Sure, we also know about the troubles you had with the Japs - and about the strong American economy. You certainly learned from that. What are the Europeans doing? Learning/adapting.
About taxes: You are right, they are high. Too high? I don't know. Denmark is maybe the country with the highest taxes in the world. (Savage costs about 8.000$). We also have high social welfare, free health care/hospitals aso. Free education (maybe the highest education-level in the world). And one of the strongest economies in the world too. Of course everyone think, the taxes are too high. Don't you Americans think that too about your taxes?
I still think Europeans know much more about America than the opposite. USA is a great nation with great ideas/systems (and some bad ones of course). Great people - who are admired and loved by the Danes. Some of the best (and i mean that) are participating in this forum. Did you know, that we are celebrating July 4. also here in Denmark?
I wish that it won't become an economic war between USA and Europe. And maybe it won't. In the German TV they said yesterday, that Cisco is building in Munich (6.000 employees). The firm in LA, Designworkusa, where my daughter hopefully will practice, is owned by BMW (who also make a beautiful cruiser) have American stocks. Internet is doing something to us all. Bikes too :-))
